VISA CATEGORIES
Entry Visa
- Issued for tourism, business, to visit family and friends and for medical treatment
- May be granted for up to 90 days depending on nationality
- Single-entry visa
Entry visas are issued to foreign nationals who would like to sojourn in Swaziland for tourism or business purposes, to visit family and friends or to receive medical treatment. This visa is granted for a period not exceeding 90 days which varies depending on nationality.
Temporary Residence Permit
- Allows for work authorization
- Issued for up to 2 years – Dependent on duration of employment
- Required prior to entering Swaziland
A Temporary Residence permit is issued to a foreign national who wishes to take employment in Swaziland. The validity period of this permit is subject to the discretion of the Director of the Department of Immigration Services. Work permits are renewable provided the employee’s local contract of employment is valid and ongoing.
Dependent Permit
- Issued to a person whose spouse, parent, or guardian can lawfully enter Swaziland
- Issued for up to 2 years
- Work is prohibited
A dependent permit is issued to a spouse, parent or guardian of a foreign national who is lawfully allowed to enter for work purposes or other purposes. The validity of the dependent permit is granted at the discretion of the immigration officer and is often tied to the validity of the main applicant’s permit.
Student/Internship Permit
- Allows you to study, research, or take part in an internship in Swaziland
- Validity is dependant on the duration of studies or internship
- Required prior to entering Swaziland
A student or internship permit is issued to foreign nationals who wish to pursue their education in Swaziland’s education or training institutions, or those who wish to undertake an internship or take part in academic research in an accredited institution in Swaziland. The validity of the student or internship permit is depending on the duration of studies, the duration of the internship, or the research assignment.
